DMK launches virtual marathon on Karunanidhi's death anniversary; funds to be used for cornavirus relief
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Thursday launched the Kalaignar Memorial International Virtual Marathon, an event to honour the late DMK supremo and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
The virtual marathon was inaugurated by DMK Chief MK Stalin on Thursday and registrations for the event are under process.
The fund generated from the event will be used towards Covid-19 relief in the state.
DMK said anyone across the globe can register on www.kalaignarmarathon.com for a participation fee of Rs. 300.
The event will take place between 7 and 31 August. Keeping the pandemic in mind and the local lockdown laws, the participants have been requested to run on a treadmill, in their houses or terraces and track their activity using a tracking application.
Each participant will receive a certificate and a medal.
