PM Modi fires 56-inch dhamaka  at DefEx 2020

Prime Minister Narendra Modi checked out a virtual firing range at the DefExpo 2020 in Lucknow Wednesday. And visuals -- probably not for the first time with something involving PM Modi -- are definitely going to go viral.

In videos and photos from the event, which is now in its 11th edition, PM Narendra Modi is seen cocking an assault rifle and aiming at a virtual firing range in front of him. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath is seen standing just behind him.

The five-day DefExpo was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi earlier today. "Defence manufacturing will not only make us self reliance but also ensure we are prepared to help friendly countries in the region if required," PM Modi said while inaugurating the event, adding, "India is also been a trustworthy partner of peace."


DefExpo-2020 is one of the largest events of its kind is being held for the first time in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The main theme of the DefExpo 2020 is 'India: The Emerging Defence Manufacturing Hub' and the focus will be on 'Digital Transformation of Defence'.
