Congress, Sena blows hard against Anurag Thakur's desh ke gaddaro ko slogan
On Tuesday Union Minister and BJP MP Anurag Thakur was seen inciting on supporters at a Delhi election rally with the provocative slogan “Desh Ke gaddaro Ko”.The slogan followed by "goli maaro s***on ko" has invited sharp reactions from the Opposition.
The Delhi CEO has also taken note of the provocvative speech by Anurag Thakur and sought a report from the North West district’s election officer.
However the slogans of Shoot the traitors has prompted Congress leaders Randeep Surjewala and Abhishek Manu Singhvi slam the BJP leader for spreading poison.
Singhvi wrote in a tweet “Disappointing to see a young leader like Anurag Thakur provoking to make such poisonous slogans during electioneering. This seems to be the modus operandi of the entire party.”
On the other hand, former ally Shiv Sena has also hit out at Anurag Thakur. Sena spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "When done with shooting the 'gaddars', will the junior finance minister also look at the country's failing economy and shoot down the problems with this year's Budget? Or will India once again be fooled with the 'acche din' promise?"
Congress has also demanded that the Election Commission (EC) take action against Anurag Thakur.
Anurag Thakur was addressing a meeting in support of BJP candidate from Rithala, Manish Chaudhary.
Reacting to a video of Thakur's speech, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said in a tweet, "Deeply saddened by Anurag Thakur's conduct. Saw a remote ray of hope of sanity in him, only to realise today that ministerial posts and uprightness make strange bedfellows!"
