Box office collection Day 1: Panga earns Rs 2.7 crore
After playing a crazy character in Judgementall Hai Kya, Kangana Ranaut is back to the big screen in a whole new avatar in Panga.
In the film, Kangana is playing the role of a 32-year-old kabadi player who, on insistence of her little son, is trying to make a comeback to the sport. Panga has minted Rs 2.7 crore on the first day of its release. The film is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
Panga has got glorious reviews from the critics. Our reviewer Nairita Mukerjhee gave the film 3.5 out of 5 stars. She wrote, "Panga essentially is a story about regaining confidence in one’s self. It goes beyond just skill, for that the person sitting next to you, wreaking havoc on the keyboard right now, also has. We are in fact surrounded by skilful people, who are where they are because they deserve it. And so do we. It is that confidence that is most fragile, it is that confidence that suffers the biggest hits."
Panga is playing in 1450 screens in the country and 450 screens overseas. It has been released alongside Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor's Street Dancer 3D and is expected to get a major competition from the film.
