Present situation worrying, people living in fear: Ashok Gehlot
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday hit out at the Narendra Modi-led government saying the current situation in the country is a matter of concern.
The present situation in India is worrisome. People are living in fear of uncertainty. This is not conducive for a democracy, the Rajasthan CM said at India Today’s State of the State Conclave, in New Delhi on Friday.
Raising concern on the present economic condition of the country, Ashok Gehlot said the Centre should pay attention to experts and not ignore the problem. Arrogance won’t work here, he said.
The Rajasthan CM said in his several decades in politics, he has never seen such an atmosphere in India. I haven’t seen such a situation when people of different caste, class, and strata live in fear, Gehlot said.
At the conclave, Ashok Gehlot also raised questions on the credibility of probe agencies CBI and ED.
Rajasthan CM also took a dig at the RSS which he said was work as an extra-constitutional body in the country. These days, you can’t be a minister or chief minister without the nod of RSS, Ashok Gehlot said.
Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu and Manipur Biren were also present the session at the State of the States.
