Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia not invited for Melania Trump's school visit: Sources
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia may not accompany First Lady Melania Trump to a government school during her brief visit to the national capital in the coming week.
According to Delhi government sources, names of Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have been dropped from the school event which is to be attended by Melania Trump on Tuesday, newsagaency ANI reported.
Sources had earlier claimed that both were to attend the programme since the school comes under the Delhi government. They were said to give a tour of the school to Melania and brief her about their public education experiment that focuses on mindfulness exercises and good moral lessons.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged that it was the centre's plan to drop the two from the VVIP event.
AAP leader Preeti Sharma Menon tweeted: "There is no match for the pettiness of @narendramodi. You may not invite @ArvindKejriwal @msisodia but their work speaks for them."
On Tuesday, Melania Trump is scheduled to attend a 'happiness class', one of the flagship programmes of the Delhi government in the education sector that aims to help children relieve stress, meditate and discuss things that are troubling them. She is expected to spend around an hour at the state government school.
The name of the school where the First Lady might go has not been disclosed, but some Delhi government schools are being spruced up and decorated.
