Amul pays emotional tribute to Basu Chatterjee: Thank you for the khatti, meethi, chhoti si baatein
Amul paid an emotional tribute to veteran filmmaker Basu Chatterjee in a post on social media. Celebrated for making films such as Piya Ka Ghar and Baton Baton Mein, Basu Chatterjee died due to age related health issues at his Mumbai residence on June 4. He was 93.
The doodle that the dairy brand shared is a graphical creative of Basu Chatterjee on the sets of a film. The Amul girl accompanied the director as well. "Thank you for the khatti, meethi, chhoti si baatein, Basuda," the message on the creative reads.
"Tribute to legendary Indian film director," is the caption of Amul's post.
Ashoke Pandit, President of the Indian Film and Television Directors' Association (IFTDA), told news agency PTI that Basu Chatterjee died in his sleep.
"He passed away peacefully in his sleep in the morning. He wasn't keeping well for quite some time due to old age and died at his residence. It's a great loss to the film industry," Ashoke Pandit told PTI on June 4.
Basu Chatterjee has directed actors including Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Moushumi Chatterjee, Amol Palekar and Vidya Sinha.
Rajnigandha, Chitchor, Chhoti Si Baat and Manzil are some of his best films.
