Amitabh Bachchan’s Sholay to be screened at IFFI 2019
If you are a fan of Ramesh Sippy's directorial venture Sholay, then you might want to attend the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which is scheduled to be held in Goa this month. For the 1975 cult classic, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra in lead roles will be screened at the 50th edition of the film festival.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the news, along with a list of other films to be screened at the festival. Apart from Sholay, cinephiles can also watch international silent films such as GW Pabst's Pandoras Box, Alfred Hitchcock's Blackmail and Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin at IFFI 2019.
According to the official website of IFFI Goa, Amitabh Bachchan, who is the recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award, will be honoured at the film festival by showcasing six of his films. The movies which will be screened at IFFI this year apart from Sholay are Deewaar (1975), Black (2005), Paa (2009), Piku (2015) and Badla (2019).
