Amitabh Bachchan pens emotional note on Rishi Kapoor's death

On Thursday, India woke up to the sad news about the death of legendary actor Rishi Kapoor. Amitabh Bachchan, who had worked with the late actor in several films, broke the news on Twitter. He tweeted once, then deleted it and then tweeted it again to delete it again. Perhaps, he was not sure of the words to be used to describe how he felt. He simply wrote, "I'm destroyed."

However, later, on Thursday night, he took to his blog to pen a long note about his beloved friend, Rishi Kapoor. He wrote about the first time he met him at their Chembur home, Deonar Cottage. He wrote that he was impressed with the young actor's confidence and the way he walked.

He wrote, "I had seen him at his home Deonar Cottage, Chembur, a young energetic, bubbly, mischief in his eyes Chintu, on those rare moments when I was privileged to have been invited to an evening at Raj ji’s house (sic)."

He added, "I would see him more often after, at RK Studios, when he trained as an actor for his film to be made, BOBBY .. a diligent enthusiastic youngster, ready to pounce onto every learning that came his way, in that famous large and legendary make up room, of Raj ji at the end of the first floor corridor of make up rooms (sic)."

Comparing Rishi Kapoor's walk with that of his grandfather, Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "He had a walk that was confident and determined.. a stride and style that was similar to that of his grandfather, the legendary Prithvi Raj ji.. a walk I had noticed in one of his earlier films.. that walk.. I never found it in any other (sic)."

Amitabh and Rishi worked in several films together, including Amar Akbar Anthony, Coolie, Naseeb and 102 Not Out. Their chemistry was praised by many and the audience loved to watch them share the screen space. Even Big B was among his fans. He wrote, "We worked in several films together.. When he spoke his lines, you believed every word of it.. there was never an alternative.. its genuineness was beyond question.. And there has never been any other, that could lip-sync a song as perfectly as he would .. never.. (sic)."
