On Tuesday, he released a statement to inform that his staff members tested coronavirus-positive. He said, "Hello everyone, this is to inform you that some of my staff have tested positive. They were immediately quarantined, and BMC officials were very prompt and efficient in taking them to a medical facility. I would like to thank the BMC for taking such good care of them, and for fumigating and sterilising the entire society (sic)."

Along with his staff, Aamir Khan and his family were also tested for the virus and were found negative. However, they were waiting for the result of his mother's test. The actor had asked his fans to pray for her. He had said, "The rest of us have all been tested and found negative. Right now I am taking my mother to get her tested. She is the last person in the loop. Please pray that she is negative. I would, once again, like to thank the BMC for the prompt, professional and caring manner in which they helped us (sic)."

Earlier, staff members of Boney Kapoor and Karan Johar had also tested positive for the novel coronavirus. They have recovered now.

Aamir Khan was shooting for Laal Singh Chaddha when the production work was stalled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. He was to resume the shoot of the film on July 15, but as his staff tested positive for the virus, it seems it will take more time before the team resumes shoot. Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan.
