Aamir Khan shuts down rumours of distributing money in wheat bags to the needy
For the last whole week, reports of Aamir Khan distributing money to the needy in gunny sacks amid the novel coronavirus lockdown were doing the rounds. Finally, Aamir took to Twitter to clear the air.
The Laal Singh Chaddha actor took to Twitter to clarify that he isn't the person distributing money. He further added that the reports are either fake or the person, much like the fictional character of Robin Hood, doesn't want to reveal his identity.
"Guys, I am not the person putting money in wheat bags. Its either a fake story completely, or Robin Hood doesn't want to reveal himself! Stay safe. Love. a (sic)," reads his tweet.
Rumours of Aamir donating money started with an unverified Tik Tok video where we see a man claiming, "Unhone is tarah se donation kiya, aadhi raat ko piche basti mein slum area ke andar, jahan Hindu Musalman sab log rehte hain, wahan ek truck bhej diya...unhone aata bheja..."
The TikTok user then claimed that Aamir distributed 1 kg of wheat to everyone, but when they brought the gunny sacks home, they discovered Rs 15,000 inside it.
The user concluded the video by thanking Aamir for the donation
We also found another video claiming the same. In the clip, a man can be heard saying that Aamir sent a truck full of essentials for the needy and contributed 1 kg wheat to every family.
