Aakashavaani: SS Rajamouli's son Karthikeya backs out of the film as producer
Baahubali director SS Rajamouli's son SS Karthikeya launched his production house, Showing Business, and made his debut with Aakashavaani in 2018. The film is directed by Ashwin Gangaraju, an erstwhile assistant of Rajamouli. Two years later, Karthikeya has announced that he is backing out of the project due to creative differences.
In a detailed press note, Karthikeya revealed that his vision for Aakshavani doesn't match Ashwin's ideas and hence decided to hand it over to someone, who believes in the project.
The note read, "It has been quite an interesting journey so far as a producer. Working onAakashavaani has been one hell of a learning experience that I shall cherish for a lifetime. However, some good sojourns have to end. As much as I was excited about the project and decided to give it my all, I am also equally dedicated to the other project, in which I'm working as a line producer, and sometimes, that prevents the much-deserved time I'd like to dedicate to the film."
Stating that he is not in sync with the director's vision, Karthikeya said, "With an amazing crew in place, progress has been great on the film. However, over time we have realised that the creative vision of the director and I is different and I felt it would be appropriate to make it easy for the team by handing over the project to someone whose ideas are in sync with the vision of the film. And so, I have passed on the baton to A Padmanabha Reddy of AU&I Studios Pvt Ltd."
Ashwin Gangaraju, the director of Aakashavaani, in a statement, said that it was a great experience working with his dear friend Karthikeya. "Unfortunately, we have our own responsibilities and creative choices. Hence we have decided to part ways amicably as we respect and understand each other."
The director thanked Karthikeya for his support and requested the audience to patiently wait a little longer to watch the film in theatres soon. He further added that the first-look poster will release soon.
