A quick look – Employee Provident Fund(EPF)

Published

on

The Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is a saving scheme developed by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). It is a retirement fund created for salaried employees and is established under the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act in 1952. The EPF was initially provided for industrial workers but was later extended to all salaried employees. According to the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, all organizations that employ 20 people or more are required to register to the EPF and make monthly contributions.

Since the purpose of this is to provide employees with a source of income after retirement, the funds accumulated should ideally be withdrawn at that time. However, there are cases where the EPFO allows subscribers to withdraw the funds in their PF account before retirement.

One can withdraw EPFO when he gets retired or after 60 days of unemployment. With regard to partial withdrawal, the subscriber has to complete a specific number of years of service. Moreover, there are specified amounts that can be withdrawn for each of the reasons listed by the EPFO. Withdrawal claims can be filed either online or through the submission of a physical form.

Partial withdrawal is permitted under the following circumstances Form 31

  • Marriage
  • Education
  • Purchase or construction of a house
  • Purchase of land
  • Home renovation
  • Repayment of home loans
  • 12 months before retirement

Interest Rates:

The EPFO has reduced the rates of interest on deposits to 8.55% for the financial year 2017-18 following a decline in the rates of interest. The rate of interest for the year 2016 for the Employees’ Provident Fund was 8.65%.

EPF Complete Withdrawal/Final Settlement – Form 19

This form is filled to withdraw the entire accumulated PF amount at the time of retirement. This is also known as ‘Final Settlement’. You need to fill your personal details and employment details such as your date of leaving, the reason of leaving services, date of joining services, PAN, UAN and Aadhaar Number, bank account details, full postal address, etc.

Pension Withdrawal – Form 10C

If you want to withdraw the pension amount, Form – 10C should be filled. Thus if you are withdrawing your PF on the ground of unemployment you have to fill Form 31 and Form 10 C. The fields in this form are similar to that in Form 19. The pension amount is regulated by the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1950 whereas the PF amount is regulated by the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952. So if you want to withdraw both the PF and pension amounts, you will have to fill the two forms separately.

Benefits of EPF Withdrawal Online

Making an online EPF withdrawal claim has a number of benefits, such as –

  • Hassle-free Withdrawal- Online claim saves you from the hassle of visiting the PF office in person and standing in long queues. You just need to fill the forms online from the comfort of your home.
  • Reduced Processing Time- With online claims, the amount will be processed and credited into your bank account within 15-20 days of the application. The government plans to further reduce the processing time.
  • No need to visit the previous employer for verification- Unlike offline claim wherein you have to get your documents attested by the employer, online claims verification is done automatically. This is especially helpful for people who have moved to a new city as it will save them from the trouble of mailing the documents or traveling long distances.

Nabhi – Belly Button does wonder

Published

on

DID YOU KNOW?

Our belly button (NABHI )  is an amazing gift given to us by our creator. A 62 year old man had poor vision in his left eye. He could hardly see especially at night and was told by eye specialists that his eyes were in a good condition but the only problem was that the veins supplying blood to his eyes were dried up and he would never be able to see again.

According to Science, the first part created after conception takes place is the belly button. After it’s created, it joins to the mother’s placenta through the umbilical chord.  Our belly button is surely an amazing thing! According to science, after a person has passed away, the belly button is still warm for 3 hours the reason being that when a woman conceives a child, her belly button supplies nourishment to the child through the child’s belly button. And a fully grown child is formed in 270 days = 9 months.

This is the reason all our veins are connected to our belly button which makes it the focal point of our body. Belly button is life itself!

The “PECHOTI” is situated behind the belly button which has 72,000 plus veins over it. The total amount of blood vessels we have in our body are equal to twice the circumference of the earth.

Applying oil to belly button CURES dryness of eyes, poor eyesight, pancreas over or under working, cracked heels and lips, keeps face glowing, shiny hair, knee pain, shivering, lethargy, joint pains, dry skin.

REMEDY For dryness of eyes, poor eyesight, fungus in nails, glowing skin, shiny hair

At night before bed time, put 3 drops of pure ghee or coconut oil in your belly button and spread it 1 and half inches around your belly button.

 For knee pain

At night before bed time, put 3 drops of castor oil in your belly button and spread it 1 and half inches around your belly button.

For shivering and lethargy, relief from joint pain, dry skin. At night before bed time, put 3 drops of mustard oil in your belly button and spread it 1 and half inches around your belly button.

WHY PUT OIL IN YOUR BELLY BUTTON?

You belly button can detect which veins have dried up and pass this oil to it hence open them up.

When a baby has a stomach ache, we normally mix asafoetida (hing) and water or oil and apply around the naval. Within minutes the ache is cured. Oil works the same way.

Try it. There’s no harm in trying.

You can keep a small dropper bottle with the required oil next to your bed and drop a few drops onto navel and massage it before going to sleep. This will make it convenient to pour and avoid accidental spillage.
